I don’t think it’s just men who prioritize freedom though. This makes it seem like women are the ones longing for the man to be “tamed” and to be a “good husband,” when really, some women desire freedom more than the traditional outlook on marriage. It can be confusing to read something that makes black and white statements that make it seem like all women want one thing and all men want something else. Can’t we see by now that it is the desire of every individual to be free? And that any relationship that hinders that isn’t…enjoyable, to say the least.

But your article is helpful in some ways in understanding the dynamics between two people, regardless of gender or social roles. I just wish the stereotype of women being the ones who are clingy and needy and men being the ones who need freedom would end.
